Newcastle United fans have been giving their thoughts on Thursday morning after Mike Ashley announced NUFC Season Tickets were now on sale for the 2021/22 season.

Some ‘interesting’ comments (see below)as supporters react to the owner’s update.

Mike Ashley had delayed putting season tickets on sale until only four weeks before the season starts, all other Premier League clubs having had theirs on sale for some time, most of them since May.

The announcement comes on the 37th day of the transfer window and not a single signing made so far.

Media reports have estimated the NUFC summer transfer budget at somewhere between zero and £10m, with most (all?) signings expected to be free transfers or loan deals, if indeed anybody at all is brought in.

Newcastle United announcing via Twitter:

‘Supporters can now renew their season tickets for the upcoming 2021/22 Premier League season at St. James’ Park.

The club has frozen season ticket prices at the same rates as the 2019/20 season.’

Mike Ashley’s announcement met with these replies from Newcastle fans…

Toon For Change:

‘Will you be giving away 10,000 free season tickets?’

MickyC:

‘No thanks. Not under this regime.’

DYL:

‘Not until Ashley and Bruce have both left.

How on earth are people paying to watch the sh.t Bruce plays?’

Dell:

‘Yes because the transfer window is really making everyone excited about the upcoming campaign.’

Deana Hoggat:

‘Are you giving away 10,000 free ones again? I think I’ll wait for one of them thanks.’

Graeme Skidmore:

‘Still not going back as long as Ashley is around.’

Bryan Crute:

‘You appear to have also frozen the playing staff.’

M Oxley:

‘And frozen expenditure on the upkeep of the ground and training facilities since 2007…’

Colin:

‘Step right up, step right up, come and see the Brucey ball.’

Mr Temple:

‘I’ll return when Ashely leaves. The club is doing the bare minimum to survive and it hurts the soul to see it.’

Stephen:

‘Don’t give NUFC your money.’

Craig Turnbull:

‘The only thing frozen is progress. Same old sh’te.’

The E Wing Paddock:

‘Ashley OUT Bruce OUT.’

Bobby:

How generous of you.’

Lee:

‘Another season of misery.’

Susie:

‘If you took up the free half season ticket offer how do you renew these for a full season?’

Mark Wallace:

‘Sign some players #BruceOut’

Jay:

‘£600 for bruce ball ya having a laugh.’

Howey:

‘How much pocket money has Ashley given his step son Bruce to spend on players? £100, free lunch and day trip to South shields in their mini buses?’

The Farmster:

‘Another season of misery and stagnation as Mike Ashley lauds his profits over us from asset stripping the club over the last decade while flicking the middle finger up at us while he smirks and calls us idiots?

SIGN ME UP.’

My name is Jeff:

‘I will when Mike sells up!’

Mike:

Ashley gets no money from me EVER.’

Paul Siddle:

‘No one should get one till that horrible b.stard is out of the club – he’s absolutely killed us.’

KK33:

‘As a professional football club you are a joke.’
