John Barnes lectures Newcastle United fans on how they should support their club
John Barnes has been lecturing Newcastle fans once again, on how they should behave.
The former player telling NUFC supporters that they have to forget about a takeover.
Instead he says, they have to support the manager.
John Barnes stating about his mate: ‘Steve Bruce is the right man to take them forward and what they need is harmony.’
Barnes claiming that fans could be the ones to blame if Newcastle struggle in this upcoming 2021/22 Premier League season: ‘If they [Newcastle United] keep having problems and fans are booing, that’s not going to help the players and the manager.’
When exactly in these past 14+ years of misery under Mike Ashley, has the Newcastle fans booing been responsible for the club’s struggles?
Last season, without a single Newcastle fan in the stadiums watching, Steve Bruce oversaw a run of only two wins in twenty one games, whose fault was that? Steve Bruce inheriting a team that had finished mid-table twice under Rafa Benitez and Bruce then allowed a net spend of over £100m on new players, yet producing overwhelmingly most of the time shocking football, as well as the dire run of results.
John Barnes is a right clown obviously and should concentrate on what he knows about, such as his beloved Liverpool.
The problems this coming season won’t be due to Newcastle fans.
Instead it will be down to Mike Ashley’s shameful running of the club and Steve Bruce’s limitations as a head coach.
Before the virus hit, due to Ashley and Bruce, the owner had to give away 10,000 season tickets to make up for the thousands of paying fans the pair had driven away.
This coming season, if the pair of them remain, there are going to be seriously massive expanses of empty seats, even if full capacity is allowed as expected.
Only four weeks until the new season kicks off and not a single signing, not exactly a lot for Newcastle fans to cheer about as things stand.
John Barnes speaking to BonusBetCodes, has said:
“A takeover would be a turning point for any club, if someone comes in with loads of money.
“They [Newcastle fans] have been talking about a takeover for many years and it hasn’t happened, so they have to stop thinking about a takeover.
“If it does happen, they can assess it then, but they can’t look too far into the future.
“Steve Bruce is the right man to take them forward and what they need is harmony.
“They need togetherness until the club is sold.
“They have to support the manager.
“If they keep having problems and fans are booing, that’s not going to help the players and the manager.
“As much as they have their reasons for not liking the owner, that is not going to help the club.
“Until he [Mike Ashley] sells, support them.
“When you’re there for the 90 minutes, support the team.”
How time flies, it was only a year ago when with a takeover looking inevitable, John Barnes was lecturing Newcastle fans that they weren’t going to see Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappe signing…
John Barnes speaking on 12 May 2020:
“Marquee signings for Newcastle are not marquee signings.
“Ronaldo is not going there, Lionel Messi is not going there and Mbappe is not going there.”
