Joe Willock now in talks with Monaco for transfer – RMC Sport

Monaco are now in talks with Joe Willock according to news from France.

RMC Sport report that the Arsenal midfielder is speaking to the Ligue 1 club ahead of a potential move.

Joe Willock scored in a remarkable seven games in a row in his final seven matches on loan at Newcastle United.

However, Mike Ashley has refused to allow any bid to be made to buy the 21 year old goalscoring midfielder.

Indeed, Mike Ashley has refused to allow Newcastle to bid for any player so far this summer.

Quite astonishing that Newcastle United / Mike Ashley didn’t attempt to finalise a permanent deal before Willock’s loan spell ended last season.

Then unfathomable as to why no bid has been made by NUFC to buy him with this now day 49 of the transfer window.

Monaco finished third in Ligue 1 last season, finishing only five points off the top.

That third spot means that they can offer Joe Willock Champions League football this coming season, plus of course they will have the extra cash that this brings.

Amongst those reporting the Monaco move for Joe Willock, is Loic Tanzi. He works for RMC Sport and was the one who first revealed that Mario Lemina had flown into Nice to sign for them, rather than supposedly set to sign for Newcastle as the English media were claiming.

These reports of Joe Willock in talks with Monaco making headlines at almost the exact time the Newcastle team playing at Rotherham tonight was announced, Allan Saint-Maximin claimed by the club to be missing due to an unspecified ‘illness’, ASM’s absence no doubt will have some Newcastle fans wondering and worrying! The French winger having previously said in countless interviews that one day he may have to consider leaving Newcastle United unless ambition is shown, ASM specifically mentioning ‘signing players like Joe Willock’ in some of these interviews…
