Confirmed Newcastle team v Rotherham – Woodman, Ritchie, Gayle, Wilson all start
The Newcastle United team v Rotherham has just been confirmed.
Newcastle kicking off their match at the New York Stadium on Tuesday night at 7pm.
A third pre-season friendly for Steve Bruce after defeat at sixth tier York and then victory at League One Doncaster.
Rotherham were in the Championship last season but after finishing second bottom, now find themselves back in League One.
Ahead of this tonight’s match, we already knew that Martin Dubravka, Elliot Anderson, Miguel Almiron and Karl Darlow were missing through injury or illness.
Whilst question marks on a lot of other Newcastle players who are coming home from the Euros and / or recovering from injury, or working towards full fitness.
The confirmed Newcastle team v Rotherham:
Woodman, Hayden, Fernandez, Lascelles, Clark, Lewis, Ritchie, Sean Longstaff, Fraser, Gayle, Wilson
Gillespie, Langley, Dummett, Schar, Matty Longstaff, Hendrick, Krafth, Murphy, Watts, Young, White, Bondswell
The official Newcastle United official site states that Joelinton is still injured, whilst Allan Saint-Maximin is said by the club to have an unspecified ‘illness’ ruling him out.
