Christian Atsu happy to move on ‘Peace be upon to all Al Raed club fans!’
At the start of June, Christian Atsu gave final confirmation he was moving on from Newcastle United.
After five years on Tyneside saying his goodbyes (see below) via social media.
Atsu declaring: ‘Thank you my geordie staff, players and fans, it’s been a pleasure!’
Now seven weeks later the 29 year old has revealed he has signed up with a new club, the winger having previously said that he’d had offers from clubs in England.
Instead of staying in England though, Christian Atsu has completed a move to Saudi Arabian outfit Al Raed on a free transfer.
Al Raed play in the Saudi Arabia Pro League.
Christian Atsu via Twitter:
“Peace be upon to all Al Raed club fans!
“I thank the president of Al Raed club Mr. Fahd Al-Mutawa and everyone involved at the club.
“I am happy to be a player of this great club!
“For the fans, I promise to give everything I am looking forward to this new chapter.”
Christian Atsu via his social media – 1 June 2021:
“When I arrived in Newcastle almost five years ago I was made to feel welcome from the start, by everyone at the club and especially by the fans.
“I grew to love the city and my young family feel very at home here.
“Sadly, the time has now come for me to leave the club, so I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who is part of the Newcastle Utd family.
“Thank you to the Toon Army fans, a lot of whom I’ve met around the city.
“I will never forget my time in the North East and for sure I will follow the results every week.
“Thank you my geordie staff, players and fans, it’s been a pleasure!”
