‘A question from a Newcastle fan in Madras, India, what is your problem with England?’

Hi fellow Mag readers and contributors.

This is not about Newcastle United on this occasion…

Instead, more about the England national team and my curiosity about the comments I see after each win.

As a Newcastle United fan and a neutral in the case of your national team, I have some questions.

I hopefully will get plenty of answers from which I can understand what really is the issue with a section of the support, who are unhappy at their national team.

By the way, whilst living far away in Madras, India, I have been watching England’s matches in the Euros and other teams as well. So I am not uninformed on England’s performances.

In the last hour or so today after the quarter final win over England I wondered, if…

Are there any actual mature people on here (excluding the ones who don’t keep complaining) that are just pleased for once for the fact your national team won, played good and look in the best shape possible for the semi final?

Yes, England haven’t dominated the games in many ways, yes they don’t play like Manchester City or Liverpool. So what?

The fixture list isn’t their fault, is it?

Yes, Southgate hasn’t been the tactical manager, neither is he the best. However, after the Allardyce fiasco, he has been doing fine.

I seriously don’t understand the complaining though on many occasions, I have seen this has been ongoing, since the World Cup and throughout the Euros.. no matter what the result.

There have been no goals conceded. You have got a great squad with stars but yeah, haven’t been the best of the teams. It’s something though which will be overlooked when you win.

Finally, they have reached the semi final.

What’s more to complain about? And why complain even after a 4-0 win?
