Newcastle United fans invited to meet Chair of Government’s fan-led review into football
Newcastle United fans will meet Tracey Crouch next week.
The former Sports Minister is the Chair of the Government’s fan-led review into football.
Two board members of NUST (Newcastle United Supporters Trust) will meet the Chair of the review but they are canvassing the views of Newcastle United fans ahead of the meeting.
A chance for input at what feels a real pivotal time for Newcastle United fans especially, as well as the wider football community.
The fact that in English football, there is nothing to stop Mike Ashley running NUFC as he has done for the past 14 years.
All of the issues surrounding the failure of the Newcastle United takeover to happen so far.
Whilst only yesterday we saw the quite astonishing ‘punishment’ that was ‘agreed’ between the six disgraced clubs and the rest of the Premier League.
After trying to steal the future of football along with clubs from Italy and Spain via organising their own European Super League, the ‘punishment’ for each club proved to be less (£3.5m) than any of the six spend on their wage bill in a week.
So if you are a member of NUST, make sure you contribute tonight if you have something to add to the mix.

NUST invited to give feedback in private meeting to Tracey Crouch on the ‘Fan-led review’ into football
Next week Alex Hurst and Trust Chair Greg Tomlinson will speak to former sports minister Tracey Crouch and her panel of appointed experts, to provide the feedback of members of the Newcastle United Supporters Trust on what must be improved in English football.
The ‘Fan-led review’ will explore ways of improving the governance, ownership and financial sustainability of clubs in English football, building on the strengths of the football pyramid.
NUST is the only Supporters Trust outside of the Trusts from the ‘Big Six’ English clubs to be invited to a private meeting.
It is essential that we get your feedback on what must be improved in English football. We are hosting a live Microsoft Teams call for members tomorrow (Thursday) evening at 7PM UK time. We would like as many members as possible to feedback to us about what changes they would like to see made by government to improve English football and Newcastle United.
If you cannot make the call you can email us thoughts at [email protected]

The meeting is a unique opportunity for NUST and our members to get our views directly to the people that have been tasked with fixing some of English football’s biggest problems. We are particularly keen to stick to the scope outlined to us by the Football Supporters Association for the meeting and concentrate on issues surrounding football governance, ownership and communication between clubs and supporters.
The last 14 months has been an incredibly challenging time for Newcastle United fans due to the Premier League so called ‘Owners and directors test’ and a lack transparency in that regard and the continued lack of communication from Newcastle United on practically every level,
We have a chance to influence things for the better in future – please help us do that by giving us your feedback.’
