Lee Clark is out of Africa after only three months in the job
Lee Clark set off on an adventure.
The former Newcastle United star, one of Kevin Keegan’s Entertainers of the 90s, headed to North East Africa in March.
Having managed the likes of Huddersfield, Birmingham and Blyth Spartans, Lee Clark (pictured above, back in his NUFC days) adding Al Merrikh to the list.
The club are based in Sudan and sacked their head coach Nasreddine Nabi after a 0-0 draw with Simba SC in a CAF Champions League fixture in early March, before announcing Lee Clark as their new manager.
Currently Al Merrikh are second in the table in the Sudan Premier League, two points behind Al Hilal Omdurman but with a game in hand.
Since taking the job, Lee Clark has overseen eight match in both the Sudan Premier League and CAF Champions League, with Al Merrikh winning four games, drawing two and losing two.
However, Al Merrikh have announced the surprise move, only three months in, that Lee Clark has now left the club.
There has been no official reasons given for the former Newcastle star’s departure but there are rumours that Lee Clark is set to take up a new job in management back in the UK.
