Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

A struggle last weekend to view any Newcastle player deserving of NUFC man of the match against Arsenal, this week though a relative host of contenders.

Top of the pile is Callum Wilson (9.0), two quality striker’s goals and an all round excellent leading of the line.

Maybe a little bit lucky not to be man of the match, Martin Dubravka (8.7) is second highest in the NUFC ratings. Dealt well with balls into the box and a series of excellent saves, the close range one from Perez the absolute pick of them.

Three other Newcastle players also rated 8.0 or higher, with Joe Willock (8.4) of them. After ridiculously not giving the loan signing a start for seven weeks, Bruce finally caved in and gave him a game, Willock lively all game and scored that key solo opening goal.

Matt Ritchie (8.2) had an excellent game on that left hand side, going forward and back. Also on the left, Paul Dummett (8.0) capped a very good display with a rare goal to put United 2-0 up at the break.

Another three players had good games as well, rated 7.0 or higher from the fans.

Fernandez (7.5) solid at the back, whilst Almiron (7.3) had his usual excellent workrate but with better movement and attacking purpose from teammates, the Paraguayan sliding that excellent pass through for Wilson to score.

That leaves three players lesser rated on the night.

Right at the bottom is Jonjo Shelvey (5.5), a bit better than usual but still a lack of mobility and workrate compared to those around him.

Emil Krafth (6.5) did ok up to a point but yet again doesn’t convince he is anything close to Premier League quality, whilst a relatively strangely subdued ASM (6.5) played his part at times but surprisingly didn’t sparkle in this very decent team counter-attacking performance.

Below are the ratings as voted by Newcastle fans up to 12pm Sunday:
