We asked Jack Lacey-Hatton to give us his match ratings after West Brom 0 Newcastle 0.

Newcastle United getting a point but very little else to take from this match.

West Brom were woeful and Newcastle United arguably even worse.

As for how the Newcastle United side as individuals performed, Jack Lacey-Hatton gives us his NUFC player ratings and comments.

Dubravka – 5

Should have done better on the first goal.

His distribution was ropey at times.

Dummett – 3

Didn’t move the ball quick enough, played Martinelli onside for the second Arsenal goal. Disappointing.

Fernandez – 4

Not his best game, sloppy on the ball, gave some poor fouls away.

Clark – 5

Didn’t ever seem to get the back three organised.

Alert enough but not his best outing.

Murphy – 6

One of the better performances.

Showed good energy up and down the right channel, was at least trying to make things happen.

Ritchie – 5

A good battling effort but no real quality on the ball.

Some disappointing crosses after getting into good positions.

Sean Longstaff – 6

Wanted to get on the ball and tried to move us up the pitch, just never quite got things going for us.

Shelvey – 5

I am not his biggest fan but he has done well in recent games, this system appears to suit him.

Today he just didn’t seem on the same wavelength as some of his teammates.

Almiron – 3

I like Miggy but today was a game for him to forget.

Made poor decisions and failed to ever hurt the Arsenal backline.

Saint-Maximin – 6

Not his best game but in the few flashes of us offering an attacking threat, he was normally the sole reason.

Not his fault he was often outnumbered.

Wilson – 5

Great to see him back starting.

I truly believe we are a much better team with him on the pitch.

Today his movement was good but he had zero service.

When he did get the ball, our number 13 looked a little ‘ring rusty’.

SUBS

Schar – 1

Could have been a yellow card but daft and totally unnecessary challenge that gave the referee a decision to make.

Game was already gone and now he will miss the next three matches, only available for the final game at Fulham.

Joelinton – 4

Contributed next to nothing when he came on.

Gayle – N/A (Not on long enough)
