Confirmed Newcastle team v Fulham – Sean Longstaff, Murphy, Willock all start
The Newcastle United team v Fulham has just been confirmed.
Newcastle kicking off their match at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon at 4pm.
Steve Bruce hoping to improve on a record of six wins and fifteen defeats (and seven draws) in the last twenty eight games.
Ahead of this afternoon’s match, Steve Bruce gave an update on the injury and fitness / availability front on Friday.
Good news is that Fabian Schar is available, having served the third of three matches he was banned for, when Newcastle beat Sheffield United 1-0 on Wednesday.
The Newcastle defender keen to get some time on the pitch ahead of the Euro 2020 finals with Switzerland.
Ryan Fraser, Isaac Hayden, Callum Wilson, Karl Darlow and Jamaal Lascelles are all ruled out for the season.
Whilst we wait to see if the likes of Martin Dubravka, Joe Willock, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton are available after picking up knocks / injuries in Wednesday’s game.
Meanwhile, Elliot Anderson has been hoping to get fully fit and involved in a Premier League game before the end of the season, having recovered from a hip problem.
The confirmed Newcastle team v Fulham:
Dubravka, Murphy, Fernandez, Krafth, Dummett, Ritchie, Shelvey, Sean Longstaff, Willock, Almiron, Saint-Maximin
One change from the team that beat Sheffield United.
Fabian Schar has to settle for a place on the bench.
Whilst interesting to see Newcastle playing with no recognised out and out striker (no jokes about Joelinton!).
Mark Gillespie, Ciaran Clark, Andy Carroll, Jamal Lewis, Jeff Hendrick, Fabian Schar, Javier Manquillo, Matty Longstaff, Dwight Gayle
