Confirmed Newcastle team v Arsenal – Wilson, Shelvey, Almiron all start
The Newcastle United team v Arsenal has just been confirmed.
Newcastle kicking off their match at St James Park at 2pm on Sunday.
Steve Bruce hoping to improve on a record of four wins and thirteen defeats (and seven draws) in the last twenty four games.
Ahead of Saturday’s match, Steve Bruce gave an update on Friday on the injury and fitness front.
The Head Coach revealing that five Newcastle players definitely miss Arsenal.
Joe Willock can’t play against his parent club.
Lascelles and Hayden are out for the season, whilst Darlow and Fraser are still recovering from minor operations.
The positive news from Steve Bruce was that Callum Wilson is now fully fit and able to start.
Bruce also saying he expects Matt Ritchie to shake off a calf injury.
Whilst Fabian Schar could make the squad but Steve Bruce is saying he has to be cautious with the Swiss defender having only recently returned to training and has had 45 minutes in a reserve match so far.
