Two Newcastle United stars make Premier League Stats Leaders of the week list
A newly published stats table shows which players are the ‘Stats Leaders of the week’ in the Premier League.
The table covering the 14th round of Premier League fixtures over the weekend.
Two Newcastle United star feature and interesting to see how they stood out this past couple of days.
The stats relate to Premier League players from the 14 clubs outside the ‘big six’ in the top tier.
They show the best performers in each position, based on relevant stats in each of the 11 cases.
Nice to see the stats backing up what we have seen with the naked eye in the case of Federico Fernandez.
The defender has been excellent since coming back into the team and the stats show against Manchester City, that he had five interceptions and ten clearances.
The Argentine international also winning two of three tackles and one of two heading duels.
Jonjo Shelvey is the other of the Newcastle United players to make this top 11 of the weekend.
The midfielder creating a chance for a teammate as well as scoring that vital point winning goal.
His passing accuracy was an excellent 83% whilst interesting to see he also made four interceptions, twice as many as the other central midfielder to make the team, Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi.
The PL Stats Leaders of the week table has been published by ‘The Other 14’ (who specialise on stats/tables etc on the 14 clubs who aren’t the ‘Big Six’):
Obviously it is all about the team performance but also nice to see certain individuals stand out.
