Rafa Benitez tells Jamie Carragher whether he is returning to Premier League this season

Rafa Benitez has been quizzed on Sky Sports on Monday night.

With the league season in China at an end, the former Newcastle United manager returning to England and appearing on the Sky channel.

The subject of his future was predictably top of the list to be asked about.

Jamie Carragher asking Rafa Benitez if there is any scenario where he will be managing in the Premier League any time before his Dalian Yifang contract ends in 2021.

Rafa replying: ‘I can be very clear, must be very clear…So, no chance I will come back now.’

The Champions League winning boss was then asked by a Sky Sports presenter: ‘So that is a no to Arsenal, Everton, anyone else who might be interested right now?’

To which Rafa Benitez stated: ‘Yes. At the moment it is a no.’

Jamie Carragher:

“You have got a contract in China for [another] two years, is there any club, or any way, that you could be back in the Premier league before the two years are up?”

Rafa Benitez:

“Obviously, in the future I would like to come back to the Premier League because I like the league.

“But at the moment, I can be very clear, must be very clear…

“So, no chance I will come back now.

“Because I am really happy, really pleased, that they trust me.

“We have a lot of staff working in a big big project.

“People will say the league (in China) is different. Yes, it is different, another level, but Wanda, that is behind the team, is a massive company and they want to change everything (at Dalian Yifang).

“We are in charge of the kids from six years old until the first team.

“So we want to leave a legacy and it is a challenge for me.

“I am learning a lot, it is a great experience and quite happy at the moment.”

Presenter:

“So that is a no to Arsenal, Everton, anyone else who might be interested right now?”

Rafa Benitez:

“Yes. At the moment it is a no.”
