West Ham fans comments ahead of kick-off against Newcastle United – Amusing as difficult to tell who…
Interesting what West Ham fans are saying ahead of kick-off today.
After losing to Man City on the opening day of the season, the Hammers then won three and drew three of their next six games.
However, in the space of only a month or so, paranoia appears to be rife in their fanbase, believing everything and everybody is against them.
The last five games have seen two draws and three defeats including a 4-0 League Cup hammering at Oxford.
The comments below show them not in the best of moods.
The big thing they are not sure about is whether West Ham are as bad as Newcastle.
As for Andy Carroll, it is one of those timeless classics.
The West Ham fans calling him a donkey and relieved he is no longer their player BUT still convinced he could/will get the winner!
West Ham fans commenting via their Knees Up Mother Brown message board:
‘As always, depends which west ham bothers to turn up.
We have lazy players who although they are good enough don’t produce regularly enough for us to achieve.
Pellegrini looks tired and just here for his large cheque. do we really pay him more than Klopp gets ?
I expect a reaction today but who knows.
What I do know is fail to beat a poor Newcastle TEAM AND WE ARE IN TROUBLE.’
‘We should be beating them, but I’m more concerned with the performance, if we play well and they squeak out a draw that’s better than us playing poorly and nicking a win.’
‘Newcastle will have watched our last couple of games and so will know exactly how to approach this – which is why we need to change things up today.
Up and at em from the off and pray for the first goal to settle the nerves and open them up.
I’m not holding out too much hope though.’
‘Please show up today West Ham.’
‘Carroll hat trick and he’ll sprint about the pitch.’
‘Let’s not stretch reality too far.
Carroll hat trick then he falls whilst totally alone and snaps every bone in his body simultaneously.’
‘Nothing but a win today otherwise this place will erupt.
We need to be “up and at them” and lets get the ball wide and send in some crosses for Haller.’
‘Would love it if we go 2-0 up and they throw Carroll on about 70mins, first time he goes to head a ball he pulls up injured and has to go off and they have to play the last 20 with 10 men.’
‘As absurd as that is we need a performance. A draw wouldn’t be the end but another slack, walking football, zero passion performance will not sit well with many.
Even a heartless win will probably ramp up the discontent.’
‘I don’t understand why anyone would be worried about Carroll – he is shot, can’t win anything in the air and is now a lolloping donkey. I’d actually prefer it if he played in place of Joelinton to be honest, not that he will.’
‘Pretty depressed after watching the rugby this morning. On my way to the soulless bowl hoping to be cheered up.’
‘Newcastle if they have done their homework simply need to approach the game like Palace an Sheffield United did and I would expect a similar result.’
‘Our last 2 home games we looked like we should scored 3, has enough clear cut chances, just lacking the final finish.
If we have a bit of composure about us when we get in the box, we’ll be fine.’
‘Big positive for us that Schär is out. One of few decent signings they’ve made it recent years.
I hope the bar codes come out a bit and try and play as they are difficult to break down, they defend in a 5-4-1 shape. Boring but effective.’
‘Newcastle create next to nothing going forward, and have only had an xG of more than 1 in two games this season – against Watford and Brighton. The only time they’ve tried anything other than a back nine is against Leicester when they played 4-2-3-1 and they lost 5-0.’
‘Feels like we should have enough to win this one but for some reason I’m more wary than I was last week. 2-1 to us with squeaky bum final 5 minutes.’
‘If the boss won’t allow our players who do have a record of scoring in the Premier league to get close to Haller I think it’s safe to say he’s unlikely to go two up top with an unproven (and seemingly reluctantly brought on as sub) player which will also probably allow the midfield to be dominated.’
‘If we can’t beat these at home, we’ve got serious problems.
Well, even more than we thought we had. Imo, this is now a must win game.’
‘Carthorse set to be on their bench. last 10 mins runout for him.’
