Tottenham have sacked Mauricio Pochettino
Tottenham have sacked Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday night.
Only five months since he guided them to their first ever Champions League final, the Spurs boss finds himself out of a job.
I have a feeling Tottenham may live to regret this one.
I think Mauricio Pochettino is a cracking manager and would love to see him at Newcastle United one day.
Appointed in May 2014 he has done a great job but for some time there has clearly been problems behind the scenes.
Numerous reports saying that Pochettino was frustrated that he wasn’t allowed more freedom by Daniel Levy to do things his way and have more control of transfers.
This season Tottenham are down in 14th in the Premier League but look set to qualify from their Champions League group with Bayern Munich.
All eyes now on who Tottenham replace him with and where Mauricio Pochettino ends up.
Considering he has delivered league finishes of fifth, third, second, third and fourth, surely a ‘little’ bit harsh…
BBC Sport report:
Tottenham have sacked head coach Mauricio Pochettino after five years in charge of the Premier League club.
“We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste,” said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
“Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.”
