Steve Bruce confirms 3 players who will start v Manchester City and 3 injured players set to miss
Interesting update from Steve Bruce on who will and who won’t play on Saturday.
Newcastle United facing a tough test at home to Manchester City.
The NUFC Head Coach already has Jamaal Lascelles and Matt Ritchie out until after the new year.
Now he has a new problem, with DeAndre Yedlin set to miss, telling BBC Newcastle that the defender has a hip flexor problem.
Bruce describes him as ‘touch and go’ but surely he won’t start, given that Newcastle have nine games in five weeks starting on Saturday.
As for who will play…
Steve Bruce has told Sky Sports that Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron WILL all start against Manchester City.
In a combined 45 Premier League appearances, they have only scored one goal between them, but the likes of Gayle and Carroll are set for the bench yet again.
Keith Downie of Sky Sports:
“Insisting he’s happy with what they’re bringing to the team despite their lack of goals.”
Steve Bruce talking to BBC Newcastle:
“DeAndre Yedlin is struggling with a hip flexor.
“So, I think he’s touch and go. Everybody else is OK.”
