Spectacularly good day for Newcastle United as fates conspire at other matches along with 3-2 at West Ham

There are not many days when everything goes right for Newcastle United.

Whether you have supported NUFC for 50 years or 50 days you will know this for sure.

When they do come along though, they are extra sweet.

On Saturday 2 November we experienced one of them.

A compliant West Ham defence handing over the keys to their goal and NUFC taking full advantage.

Newcastle racing three up and it could/should have been many more.

Just to keep it ‘interesting’, Steve Bruce ordered his troops to retreat towards their own box and stop tearing the hosts apart, West Ham pulling it back to 3-2 but NUFC crawling over the finishing line.

After drawing breath, you then get a chance to look elsewhere and it puts an even bigger smile on your face!

Norwich losing at Brighton, Watford capitulating to Chelsea at home.

Even better, Southampton led at Man City going into the 70th minute only to then lose 2-1.

Whilst even better, Aston Villa led into the 87th minute at home to Liverpool, only for the scousers to win 2-1.

Then cherry on the top in the late game, Watford fail with late revival against Chelsea.

The net result is that Newcastle now have some small breathing space, four points clear of the drop zone.

These are the results and then the updated Premier League table on Saturday night.
