Salomon Rondon scores 26 minute hat-trick against Muto-Less Japan – Watch the goals here
Salomon Rondon is on fire at international level.
In two games for Venezuela in October, he scored twice in a 2-1 victory over Bolivia, with another goal in a 2-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago.
Now on Tuesday, the former Newcastle striker has made it six goals in his last three games for his country.
The quick fire hat-trick came in a 26 minute period against Japan, scoring on eight, 31 and 34 minutes to give Venezuela a 3-0 lead.
A goal for each team in the second-half gave a 4-1 away victory and the match ball to Salomon Rondon.
In contrast, Yosinori Muto was yet again ignored by Japan, not selected in an international squad for over nine months now.
In the whole of 2019, the striker has made only one Premier League start for Newcastle and that was the disastrous 5-0 hammering by Leicester.
In total, Muto had only played 101 minutes of PL football under Steve Bruce, although he did start and score in the League Cup defeat to Leicester in August.
As for Salomon Rondon, he has been used sparingly by Rafa Benitez since been reunited at Dalian Yifang, starting four league games and coming on as a sub in another, scoring three goals.
