Premier League relegation odds – Bookies react after thrilling Newcastle United win at West Ham
Interesting to see how the Premier League relegation odds are looking after this latest round of games, Newcastle winning at West Ham.
Before the season started, the bookies made Newcastle United a comfortable mid-table finisher.
However, after 11 games, their verdict has very much changed.
On Saturday pretty much every other match also went NUFC’s way.
Southampton leading for 70 minutes at Man City until a late comeback for a 2-1 home win.
Whilst Liverpool left it even later, trailing until the 87th minute before beating Villa.
Norwich lost to Brighton whilst Chelsea beat Watford.
This is how the Premier League table now looks on Sunday morning after Newcastle’s win at West Ham(on Sunday there are two more matches – Palace v Leicester and Everton v Spurs):
Despite a pretty much perfect Saturday and Newcastle now four points above the relegation zone, the bookies still see NUFC as joint third favourites to go down.
It has taken Sheffield United reaching top six for them to get a little bit more respect, now out to 5/1 to go down.
Whilst West Ham (6/1) are in danger of being dragged into the race to the bottom and if playing like they did yesterday you can see why.
