Premier League form table worth a look ahead of Newcastle United visiting Aston Villa

The Premier League form table as Newcastle United are set to face Aston Villa in the next match.

The form table making very pleasant reading as we look ahead to tonight’s match.

Newcastle having won 10 points in the last six games, compared to five points in the opening six PL matches.

That places Newcastle United seventh in the Premier League form table.

As for Aston Villa they lost to local rivals Wolves in their last game, making it three defeats in a row and they are 11th in the form table with seven points from the last possible 18.

Actually their form isn’t as bad as it first appears, as they beat Brighton and then hammered Norwich away, before then losing to the top two clubs in the full PL table. Plus, they were leading Liverpool until very late on in that game at Villa Park.

For Newcastle United, a win tonight would take them up to fourth in the Premier League form table, dropping off that defeat at Leicester at one end, adding a win over Villa at the other, making it 13 points from a possible 18.

In the full PL  table, a win tonight would guarantee Newcastle United ninth place above Man Utd, whilst winning by 11 goals or more would give NUFC sixth place.

All to play for at Villa Park and a massive win if the team can pull it off.

Here is the Premier League form table which covers the past six matches for all teams:
