Premier League form table now worth a look after Newcastle United beat Bournemouth
The Premier League form table after Newcastle United defeated Bournemouth and in advance of the trip to Aston Villa in the next match.
The form table making very pleasant reading after Saturday.
Newcastle having won 10 points in the last six games, compared to five points in the opening six PL matches.
That places Newcastle United sixth in the Premier League form table with Bournemouth dropping to 14th.
Two weeks today Newcastle travel to Aston Villa and they lost their (kind of) local derby on Sunday to Wolves.
That makes it three defeats in a row and they are 10th in the form table with seven points from the last possible 18.
Actually their form isn’t as bad as it first appears, as they beat Brighton and then hammered Norwich away, before then losing to the top two clubs in the full PL table. Plus, they were leading Liverpool until very late on in that game at Villa Park.
Looking elsewhere, for Norwich and Southampton things appear ominous, both of them with five defeats and one draw in their last six games.
Here is the Premier League form table which covers the past six matches for all teams:
Villa’s last six results with latest one listed first:
Wolves 2 Aston Villa 1
Aston Villa 1 Liverpool 2
Man City 3 Aston Villa 0
Aston Villa 2 Brighton 1
Norwich 1 Aston Villa 5
Aston Villa 2 Burnley 2
Newcastle’s last six results also listed with the latest result first:
West Ham 2 Newcastle 3
Newcastle 1 Wolves 1
Chelsea 1 Newcastle 0
Leicester 5 Newcastle 0
