A great win on Saturday but who were the stand out individuals for fans?

Four players were put well ahead of the rest by Newcastle supporters, a very tight decision for man of the match.

Just edging it is Ciaran Clark (8.3), another excellent display at the back and scored the winner, a goalscorer in consecutive games after West Ham.

A close second was Allan Saint-Maximin (8.2), the winger who has sparked Newcastle’s season into life and now just needs to put goals on the end of it.

In third we have DeAndre Yedlin (8.1), one of his better defensive displays and got the crucial equalising goal out of nowhere.

Marked at 8.0 by supporters, Federico Fernandez is only fourth. Arguably NUFC’s best defender on the day.

At the other extreme is Jamaal Lascelles (5.7), although he suffered an early collision with Dubravka and then was subbed after only 20 minutes.

Two other starters to dip below 7.0, with Joelinton (6.4) left isolated in the first half but I thought decent after the break as he got a bit better service and support.

The other one is Isaac Hayden (6.6), Newcastle never really got control of the middle of the pitch but Hayden did his usual share of closing down the opposition.

Jonjo Shelvey (7.1) was next lowest and with Newcastle defending so deep, he had little chance to get in more threatening positions as was the case at West Ham. Only one real stand out moment when his long ball over the top released Joelinton, he should have scored when one on one but the keeper saved his chip.

Miguel Almiron (7.3) got the fifth highest rating and played a full part in the win, exactly a year today since his last goal in club football, managed to hit a prone Saint-Maximin on Saturday when he should really have scored.

Dubravka (7.2) did well in goal and had no chance with Wilson’s strike, whilst Willems (7.2) once again showed up well on the left.
