Newcastle United regularly watching Stephane Diarra ahead of January window – L’Equipe
Stephane Diarra is interesting Newcastle United according to L’Equipe.
The French newspaper say that the Magpies are sending people to regularly watch the 20 year old play.
However, they have got company, with L’Equipe saying Everton are also scouting Diarra on a regular basis, whilst Celtic also have a long standing interest.
Stephane Diarra turns 21 in December and plays as an attacking midfielder on the right side.
On loan from Rennes last season, the then 19 year old made 31 league appearances to help Le Mans into the Ligue 2 play-offs but they missed out on promotion to Ligue 1, Diarra scoring three times.
In the summer the move was made permanent but Le Mans are struggling, fourth bottom and only above the relegation zone on goal difference.
However, Stephane Diarra has continued his improving form, he has 10 league starts this season and has scored twice, also scoring once in the French League Cup.
Born in the Ivory Coast, Diarra also has French citizenship.
