In the aftermath of the win at West Ham, we reported on the Metropolitan Police revealing that a Newcastle fan had been arrested at the game.

He was charged with throwing a missile and assaulting another Newcastle fan, as well as drugs offences (see below).

The assault charge related to the throwing of a ‘seat back’, which hit his fellow NUFC supporter.

On Tuesday, the matter was up in court.

Now he has revealed the outcome of the court hearing:

“The Newcastle United supporter attended court today (19 November 2019) and pleaded guilty to all 3 offences.

“The Judge was less than impressed and he was sentenced to 150 hours unpaid work, 4 months imprisonment suspended for 2 years.

“He has to pay the victim £750 compensation.

“He will also have to pay just under £300 in fines and surcharges.

“And he was also handed a 3 year football banning order

“I am sure he will be having a long hard think about his actions on his way back to Newcastle.”

The Mag – 3 November 2019:

The Metropolitan Police have reported that 2,998 Newcastle fans had a great time at the London Stadium.

Newcastle United running up a 3-0 lead and wasting a host of other chances, before safely seeing out a late fightback as West Ham scored twice in the last 15 minutes.

Those quick off the mark will recall that NUFC had a sold out away section of 3,000 tickets.

Which means that two of the 3,000 didn’t have a perfect day out.

The Metropolitan Police reporting that one Newcastle fan had his day spoiled when he was hit by a missile, namely a seat back.

To make matters worse, the person who allegedly threw it was another Newcastle fan.

Happily, the alleged culprit was caught and arrested with the Metropolitan Police confirming on Sunday that the accused has been charged with assault, throwing a missile and possession of drugs.

That was the only arrest on the day and the Metropolitan Police had good news for another Newcastle fan.

The NUFC supporter having lost a wallet at the match containing ‘a large amount of cash’ and the Police reuniting him with it.

No confirmation as yet whether Mike Ashley had been at his first match of the season…

Saturday 2 November 2019:

“If you are a Newcastle fan who has lost a wallet today with a large amount of cash in please speak to stadium staff or a police officer, or
Northumbria Police NUFC Policing Team.

“We have good news for you.”

However…

“We won’t talk about the score…

“But praise to both sets of supporters for impeccable silence during the last post.

“However one Newcastle (fan) won’t be going home yet after being arrested for throwing a seat and injuring one of his own supporters.

“No other arrests today.”

Sunday 3 November 2019:

“A quick update from yesterday, the Newcastle supporter who threw the seat back hitting his own fan has been charged with assault, throwing a missile and possession of drugs.

“He will be attending court on 19th November.”

Happily though:

“The owner of the wallet has been in touch via his West Ham supporting nephew and will be reunited with it next week……

“And is over the moon.”
