New report shows surprising Newcastle United player creating most chances this season

A new report has shown one Newcastle United player featuring surprisingly high in a table of most productive chance creators in the Premier League.

Newcastle have found scoring goals a massive challenge this season and after only six in the first 10 Premier League matches of the season.

That total was increased by 50% in one game on Saturday, although if they had taken their chances, NUFC could have equalled or bettered that previous season total in one go.

A table has now been published by ‘The Other 14’ (who specialise on stats/tables etc on the 14 clubs who aren’t the ‘Big Six’) which shows the most successful Premier League players when it comes to creating chances.

As you can see, in this list of players, surprisingly Christian Atsu is the 10th most productive of the ‘Other 14’ when it comes to creating chances.

Atsu has two assists so far this season and as the table shows, he has created 10 chances in his 453 minutes of football.

At times, he looks like he has what it takes to be a Premier League regular but Christian Atsu needs to produce more often and be involved in games more.

As for the rest of the Newcastle United team, Saturday at West Ham can’t be a one-off, the team/squad as a whole has to be looking to create that many chances on a regular basis.
