Nathan Ake names Newcastle United big threat to Bournemouth

Dutch international Nathan Ake is hoping for a ‘huge’ result ahead of this third in three months international break.

Three points could take Bournemouth as high as fifth in the Premier League.

However, the Cherries defender acknowledge St James Park is a ‘tough place to go’, despite Bournemouth winning 1-0 and 3-1 on two of their three PL visits so far.

Last season the exception when Salomon Rondon dominated Nathan Ake and his fellow defenders, scoring both Newcastle goals in a 2-1 win and excellent personal performance.

Looking at potential threats, Nathan Ake picks out Joelinton.

Despite only one goal and one assist in 11 starts so far, Ake sees the Brazilian as ‘very dangerous’, saying that Joelinton has been ‘a threat’ so far.

Fair to say the Newcastle fan jury is still out on the striker.

He does a lot of good work away from the box at times but is he a goalscorer?

Nathan Ake speaking to the Daily Echo:

“So far Joelinton has been a threat.

“He is very dangerous, tall and strong.

“It will be a challenge but we will prepare for that.

“It’s a very big game, I think it’s going to be tough.

“It’s a tough place to go but to be able to get a positive result there just before the international break will be huge.

“Lately they have been doing really well.

“They are tough to break down and they bought a big striker.

“They are a tough team.

“We have to make sure we are on our game.”
