Martin Dubravka kept a clean sheet but had little else to celebrate.

As expected Slovakia beat bottom of the group Azerbaijan on Tuesday night, winning 2-0.

However, to automatically qualify on the night they needed Wales and Hungary to draw.

The Welsh winning 2-0 with a goal in each half and qualifying along with Croatia, so Martin Dubravka and Slovakia face the play-offs.

As things stand, Fabian Schar and Switzerland are through to next summer’s finals after topping Group D.

Emil Krafth could also feature next summer, if selected, as Sweden finished runners-up behind Spain in Group F.

For Ciaran Clark and Martin Dubravka they go into the play-offs after their countries finished third in their respective groups.
