Injury time Premier League drama boosts Newcastle United

An eventful day in the Premier League on Saturday.

Plenty of surprises and controversy as Newcastle United watch on.

Monday night’s televised match at Aston Villa meaning a very long 16 days between fixtures for NUFC.

There are have been seven Premier League results on Saturday (Man City v Chelsea coming up at 5.30pm).

Things were looking to be tightened up significantly at the very bottom with two of the bottom three winning.

Norwich 2-0 victors at Everton and Southampton winning 2-1 at Arsenal, only for the Saints to miss several late chances and then concede in the 96th minute.

Results so far on Saturday 23 November:

West Ham United 2 Tottenham 3

Arsenal 2 Southampton 2

Bournemouth 1 Wolves 2

Brighton 0 Leicester 2

Crystal Palace 1 Liverpool 2

Everton 0 Norwich 2

Watford 0 Burnley 3

So even if Newcastle lose on Monday, they will be still five points clear of the relegation zone and can’t drop any places.

Whilst a win at Villa Park would guarantee Newcastle moving into ninth place and eight points clear of the bottom three.
