Former Newcastle United coach now challenging Jack Ross for Hibs job – Report
Jack Ross is the favourite to get the Hibs job.
The Edinburgh club sacked head coach Paul Heckingbottom and assistant Robbie Stockdale on Monday.
Jack Ross instantly made favourite despite having only managed in the lower leagues of England and Scotland with Alloa, St Mirren and St Mirren.
Sacked by Sunderland, Jack Ross is reported to be facing competition for the Hibs post from Stephen Robinson, Alan Stubbs and Daniel Stendel.
However, the Edinburgh Evening News have now said that they understand Neil Redfearn is also a contender.
They state that he ‘has admirers within the Easter Road hierarchy and is available after leaving his role as Newcastle United youth coach earlier this week’, Redfearn resigning and Newcastle accepting it, amid claims of him being unhappy with the set-up at NUFC.
The one-time manager of Leeds United and Doncaster Belles, also claimed to be a potential for the Barnsley vacancy, as well as Carlisle, if they decide a change is needed.
