Disaster for Martin Dubravka on Saturday night
Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka was in action on Saturday night.
Slovakia facing a crucial game away against Croatia with European Championships qualification in Group E so tight.
They shocked the group leaders by taking a 32nd minute lead through Bozenik but then in a 10 minute period in the second-half they brought disaster down on themselves.
Vlasic scoring on 56 minutes from outside the box when shooting through a defender’s legs and into the bottom corner, a difficult one but on another day Martin Dubravka might have got to it.
Then four minutes later a header from a corner by Petkovic gave the Newcastle keeper no chance, although if somebody had been on the post they would have cleared it.
On 66 minutes Mak got a second yellow and with 10 men it was game over for Slovakia, Perisic adding a volley on 74 minutes where again Dubravka had no chance.
A final scoreline of Croatia 3 Slovakia 1 seeing the home side top the group with 17 points.
Slovakia can still qualify for the finals on Tuesday if they beat Azerbaijan on Tuesday AND Hungary and Wales draw on the same night.
