Wolves fans comments tough to read on Newcastle United and NUFC fans after the match

Wolves fans are seeing plenty of football this season, Sunday at St James Park was their 21st game of the season, compared to being Newcastle’s 11th.

Maybe best not to dwell too much on the fact that Wolves look to be heading towards qualifying from their Europa League group and have a League Cup tie this week that could send them into the last eight.

At Newcastle United we have decided to simply concentrate on the league, as always…

It just sums up the situation when so many Wolves fans are gutted they didn’t win away at Newcastle.

Just read their comments on the Newcastle team, difficult to argue with them.

Even less able to argue with what they say about Steve Bruce.

Some Wolves fans weren’t very impressed with the Newcastle supporters who did turn up on Sunday, though I guess the more clued up away fans will very much understand why the atmosphere is/was so dire at St James Park these days.

Comments from Wolves fans after the 1-1 draw via their Molineux Mix message board:

‘Did Joelinton really cost them £40 million? Looked mid-table championship at best.’

‘I think it’s disappointing not to win for a couple of reasons.

Number one, Newcastle are desperately bad, bottom 4 or 5 nailed on.

Number two, we took too long to get into the game, had we been a bit more positive first half I think we’d have won.’

‘My verdict from high up in the Leazes Corner near the home fans….first and foremost the noise from the home fans, or lack of it, absolutely shocking.

Great support, singing and noise from the away Gold and Black Army, as expected.

Should have got all 3 points in the end, based upon the last 20-25 mins.

Adama was superb and was pretty much our only outlet for creating anything down the right hand side.

Great to experience an away day again in a great city.

Wolves fans you were loud and proud and once again put a poor home support to shame.

5 mins of noise from the Geordies to the right of me and that was just after they scored.’

‘Let’s not pretend that Newcastle are anything but relegation fodder.’

‘Newcastle were poor bar a 15 minute patch at end of first half. They were there for the taking in the second half.’

‘Make no mistake, Southampton and Newcastle will form 2 of the bottom 3.’

‘Definitely a wasted opportunity to win 3 points because Newcastle were absolutely atrocious.’

‘Newcastle are about as poor as it gets in this division as are southampton. We Threw 4 points away in the last two games.’

‘Our players and Nuno are the very reason we are watching our club win in Europe and then why we are disappointed at only getting a point away in Newcastle.’

‘Terrible game of football in the first half

Saint-Maximin was absolutely unplayable at times

Newcastle controlled the game for periods of the first half but offered very little after that and got into an unsustainably deep position midway through the second half

No atmosphere from the home fans whatsoever (apart from when they scored)

The chap next to me made a valid point – you’re that high up you can see the passes they should be making..

How we didn’t win it at the end I’ll never know.’

‘Saint-Maximim showed several times why our midfield is often back where a defence usually is and our defence is back where a goalie usually is.

At some point he outpaced all of Neves, Coady, Doc and Donk with ease.’

‘Denied a clear penalty at the end.

Highlight of my day was a couple of pints of geordie blonde in The Strawberry.’

‘Some very negative stuff on here, yes Nuno got the first half wrong, I understand the need for keeping tight against good teams but we really don’t need to do it against Newcastle.

However once we went 3-4-3 we were very good, one of Jota and Doc have to score and a definite pen denied.’

‘Felt it was a good performance after an away game on Thursday, and disruption caused by Boly’s injury.

Should have put the game away in the second half when dominant and creating good chances.’

‘An iffy performance away from home against a newcastle side that looked awful.

At the moment we are not firing all cylinders, but we were comfortably the better side second half, creating enough chances to win.’

‘People expect too much from Wolves.

We can’t play full tilt Thursday-Sunday each week.

There’s a pattern where we’re conserving energy playing more defensively first half then push in the 2nd. We created more than enough chances to win that game.

Look how tired we looked at the end, no chance we could play like that for the full 90mins playing twice a week imo. Not with the small squad we have anyway.’

‘Wish some could understand this, but it’s much better to slag Nuno off.’

‘The second-half performance was pretty good.

I thought we were unlucky not to come away with 3 points and it’s fine margins as others have said.

The expected goals stats from today were actually as good as they’ve been all season (0.6 v 2) and also compare favourably to our 2-1 win at SJP last year.’

‘No surprise Newcastle are in such a shocking state with Steve Bruce in charge.’
