Wolves fans comments ahead of kick-off against Newcastle United – Some interesting views…
Wolves fans approach the game at St James Park with a team full of confidence.
Unbeaten in their last seven matches, today’s visitors winning five and drawing two in all competitions in the last seven weeks.
Wolves will go sixth in the Premier League at 4pm if they pick up three points today.
Not surprisingly the Wolves fans are overwhelmingly positive ahead of playing Newcastle.
However, there are concerns with playing again less than 72 hours after their win in Bratislava, as well additional worries due to injuries, with the latest being the announcement that Willy Boly has broken his ankle in training.
Wolves fans commenting via their Molineux Mix message board:
‘Saw a clip in the week of a guy called (I think) Saint-Maximin.
I had a panic attack when I imagined him up against one or two of our regular defenders.
Looked a Traore type player but a little more footballing nous. Against that I have massive confidence in this Wolves side and fancy them to do well against anyone.’
‘0-5. We are going to put them to the sword. The natives will be calling for Bruce to off and burning sports direct carrier bags in demonstrations.’
‘Got to be able to go up there and totally take advantage of their desperation….the situation suits us perfectly with our countering game.
Its a long, long way up there we need to max out on it. Brucie needs to feel the long, long gap develop so as to be able to get set for the long, long cold hard gruelling winter ahead…..it’s only fair.
Gonna have to feel the chill.’
‘1 – 4….there has to be a game where it all clicks like we want and need going forwards.’
‘Newcastle will be under pressure to get the points here. Bland Brucie will start quickly after our European night.
We’ll do what we do, soak up all the pressure in the first half and hit them hard in the 2nd with Traore IMO.
‘Bruce will set up to frustrate us, but Adama will have another great away day and we’ll win 2-0.’
‘0-10 wolves. Leicester’s premier league record to be broken…’
‘They’ll defend a lot.
We’ll concede first.
‘So we could go sixth if we win, eleventh if we draw and fifteenth if we lose; and this is a quarter of the way through the season.’
‘Enjoy the long but beautiful trip up to the Toon, for who are making it!
Seeing last season’s dramatic win wasn’t just extremely sweet, but absolutely vital when it came to the final reckoning in May and I feel another positive result (despite Boly being screwed) will again be massive come the end.
Just really hope that Kilman or Dendoncker will join Coady and Saiss at the back, otherwise a lot of uneasiness will strike. And seeing this one last season was one of Jota’s finest performances, it would be marvellous to see something similar.’
‘It’s a beautiful morning on the Tyne, a little fresh but a great time to be alive. Expecting Saiss Coady Killman which is solid if a little pedestrian. Might mean more protection and a 352.’
‘Early start today for the long trip North. 7 unbeaten, 3 away wins in a row, surely full of confidence?!
interesting game today, don’t think much of Newcastle but last year we needed late goals in both games against them, and Spud head will be well up for it, but he’ll be gutted it’s not quite winter yet when he knows our team really struggles.
Big decidions for Dr Nuno, who replaces Boly, is it 3-5-2 or 3-4-3, does Diogo play, can we get Doc and Adama into the team, will BAS be involved?’
‘I would be happier if Carroll was fit. He is utter dogsh..’
‘Talking to a Newcastle season ticket holder today and he reckons that if a team scores first against toon it’s a massive struggle.
Rates the two brothers in midfield, said their best defender is out and reckons that Joelinton is absolutely useless.’
‘I’m hoping that Boly’s absence isn’t going to hit us hard as it did v Chelsea.
A win would take us to the top 6.’
‘Tynemouth. Great little village (unsurprisingly) on the coast.’
‘Filling up nicely in union rooms. We gonna have a walk for another boozer then come back’
‘We still have such an amazing team despite losing Boly.
We could give them a real hammering especially as they are really, REALLY cr.p with an even worse manager.
1-4 and Wolves up-to 6th.’
‘I really hope we go for it and give these moaning basta..s a good hiding!’
‘Hopefully we can sustain the major loss of our most consistent performer as well as Willy.
Who to replace Bennett and Boly? Saiss, Kilman and Vallejo will all come into contention, however none will give us the same confidence as with Boly in the side.
Doherty and Jonny as the wing backs and Neves to come back in to give us more defensive solidity at the expense of attacking flair.’
‘Might actually be a tough game for us. They will sit deep and try to counter. And we all know how we can struggle in those sorts of games.
Very much a game where the first goal will be vital. 0-0 would not surprise me.’
‘I hope they don’t sit back, it will look like that World Cup (’78?) game between Germany and Austria. I just hope that I can see our players in their magnificent green from the top tier.’
‘Adama v Saint Maxim will be fun to watch.’
‘Couple of Newcastle fans at work fearing the worst, I suspect 0-0 or 1-1. Would love to make it three in a row against them at SJP in the league.’
