The fans of Premier League clubs have been asked which fans of another club that they hate the most.

It has produced some interesting results.

Supporters of the Premier League clubs asked to name their five most hated fanbases.

For Newcastle fans, predictably it was Sunderland fans who came out on top with 72% picking them as one of their choices – thought it would have possibly been more.

They are then followed by Middlebrough (45%), Liverpool (37%), Man Utd (37%) and Aston Villa (16%).

When it came to who hated Newcastle fans, there were surprisingly few.

Despite the regular media driven agenda against Newcastle supporters, fans of other clubs not going along with it.

The only honourable mention we do get is from Everton fans, but only 16% of them chose Newcastle fans and we come a poor fifth for them after Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City.

A lot of it is naturally geographical and obviously we’d have had a couple of other mentions if Sunderland and Middlesbrough were in the top tier.

The results as published by Football Tweet:

No mention of how many fans of Premier League clubs too part but an interesting debate piece regardless…
