Steve Bruce gives injury/fitness update for Manchester United: Says only 2 ruled out by injury
Steve Bruce has been talking ahead of the game on Sunday.
The Head Coach meeting media on Friday morning.
Talking to Sky Sports, Steve Bruce has given fitness/injury updates on a number of Newcastle players.
It is pretty much almost all good news.
Only two players definitely ruled out of the squad through injury/lack of fitness, plus Isaac Hayden who is suspended.
Allan Saint-Maximin – Fit to start.
Jonjo Shelvey – Has recovered from his injury, has trained and could be on the bench.
Dwight Gayle – Has looked ok in training and also has a chance of being on the bench.
Jetro Willems – The left wing-back is fit to start.
Florian Lejeune – The Frenchman still at least two or three weeks away from been involved.
Matt Ritchie – Won’t be available until at least after this international break.
Steve Bruce also said to Sky Sports:
“You would have to be a sick individual if you enjoyed last Sunday.
“I don’t think I’m that sick…but I’ve always said I’ll try enjoy the job.
“It all depends if you win on a Saturday, that is the basics of it.
“It’s a lonely job at times.
“Thankfully I have got a few years experience under my belt to cope with it.
“The sack is around the corner for every manager.
“You don’t get the time, you need results instantly.
“The flak stops with me, at the top of the tree…and that’s the way it is.”
