Son of Nikos Dabizas signs for Newcastle…Benfield
Nikos Dabizas was a popular figure at Newcastle United.
Signed from Olympiakos for £2m by Kenny Dalglish, the defender went on to play 130 times for Newcastle and scored 11 goals.
The standout one of course being the only goal of the game when Newcastle won at Sunderland on 24 February 2002.
A wholehearted defender, Nikos Dabizas had the odd rush of blood to the head but was a very decent player for NUFC.
Now there is another Dabizas on Tyneside, Konstantinos is a defender like his father and now the 18 year old has signed up for a club in Newcastle.
Newcastle Benfield have announced that they have signed Konstantinos Dabizas.

The 18 year old had previously spent time with Gateshead but is now set to be playing on the other side of the Tyne.
Newcastle Benfield play in the Northern League and are currently ninth in the table after playing 13 games.
Good luck to the offspring of Nikos Dabizas and no doubt he will be making regular trips back to Tyneside to see his son play.
