The results of the Newcastle United v Manchester United player ratings by fans.

Always interested to see what supporters have collectively made of the latest performance, when using our interactive ratings system.

Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

No prizes for guessing who the man of the match was, Matty Longstaff rated 9.0 after capping a great PL debut with a cracking goal, hopefully much more of the same to come. He also provided the only other real goal threat, a 25 yarder that clipped the bar.

A strong supporting cast though of three other players who all scored over 8.0.

Man Utd may have been really poor but Fabian Schar (8.3) was excellent, making some vital clearances as well as showing his usual coolness on the ball.

Further up the pitch, two other players helped Newcastle going forward.

Sean Longstaff (8.1) playing a very good supporting role to his brother in the middle of the pitch, whilst Allan Saint-Maximin (8.1) was a bit erratic but he gave NUFC a spark that has been missing. A willingness to take his man on getting the fans onboard and he played a key part in setting up that winning goal.

A real team effort unlike at Leicester but two players still picked out as underperforming.

Joelinton (5.7) barely got a kick. The service to him wasn’t great and Mike Dean was a bit lenient with the Man Utd defenders but the striker really struggled to control and protect the ball to build attacks. At the moment he is really struggling to make any impact.

Miguel Almiron (6.5) is the only other player rated by fans below 7.0. He also played a key role in the goal, keeping the ball at the back before picking out ASM on the halfway line with a superb pass that set him away, the move ending with Willems laying the ball back to Matty Longstaff for the winning striker. However, Almiron once again missed his big opportunity, Sean Longstaff picking out his run with an excellent ball over the top, the Paraguayan beating the offside trap but a lack of confidence seeing him taking an unnecessary extra touch, giving a defender time to block.

The five other starters all rated between 7.2 and 7.4, giving a solid base to the team.

Just like on his debut, another clean sheet for Martin Dubravka (7.4) as he gave an assured performance, although very little in terms of a direct threat on the goal.

Ciaran Clark (7.4) yet again didn’t let the team down, despite not playing a minute in the league this season he looked like he had never been away.

Jetro Willems (7.4) did ok on the left and picked up an assist for the winner.

Jamaal Lascelles (7.2) rarely looked troubled with Man Utd offering so little threat, whilst DeAndre Yedlin (7.2) can be well pleased with his first start of the season, giving the team a major improvement on what Emil Krafth has shown so far.
