New Premier League relegation odds after Newcastle United win against Manchester United
Interesting to see how the Premier League relegation odds are looking as Newcastle now head into the international break.
Before the season started, the bookies made Newcastle United a comfortable mid-table finisher this time.
However, after seven games, their verdict had very much changed.
Second bottom of the Premier League before this weekend’s games, the bookies made Newcastle the odds-on favourite at 10/11 to go down, a shorter price than even rock bottom Watford.
This is how the Premier League table now looks on Monday after Newcastle’s win over Man Utd:
There has been a significant shift, although maybe not as big a change as some fans might have expected.
However, Newcastle United are no longer the clear odds-on 10/11 favourite to go down, they have been replaced by Norwich (4/5), who have also replaced NUFC second bottom of the table.
However, Newcastle are still rated as one of the three most likely to go down, although they have moved out to 5/4.
In basic terms, the bookies now think there is less chance of Newcastle going down than staying up.
