Points to how Joelinton is being let down by Steve Bruce ‘plan’ – Flying high in this stats table

Joelinton has found it tough since arriving at St James Park in July.

Adapting to a new club, country, culture is always going to take time

Whilst the claimed £40m price tag was always going to be an extra burden to carry.

However, by far the biggest obstacle to the striker’s (and the team’s) success has been the lack of a satisfactory plan from Steve Bruce, on how the team are going to score goals and properly support their record transfer centre-forward.

A table has now been published by ‘The Other 14’ (who specialise on stats/tables etc on the 14 clubs who aren’t the ‘Big Six’) which shows the most successful Premier League players in the air.

As you can see, in this list of players, only one (Sebastien Haller) has won more heading duels than Joelinton.

Then when it comes to how many per 90 minutes, only four striker have won more than the Newcastle striker.

Considering how poor the service is to the Brazilian and how little possession NUFC have, it makes these stats even more impressive for Joelinton.

The situation is crying out for more support, as often when he does win these headers, the closest other Newcastle players are usually nowhere near him.
