Fans choice of this Newcastle team v Chelsea

We asked fans the question, which 11 players would you pick in your Newcastle team v Chelsea?

We put together a list of the 23 players who looked as though they could potentially be selected for this game.

On Friday morning, Steve Bruce indicated that only three players were definitely ruled out.

The Head Coach saying that Matt Ritchie and Florian Lejeune are still working their way back to full fitness, whilst Isaac Hayden is suspended.

An interesting selection this time, with six players getting 82% or better support from Newcastle fans.

Martin Dubravka getting 100% support, followed by Schar (97%) and Saint-Maximin (96%).

Then we have the Longstaff brothers on 95% (Sean) and 94% (Matty).

You then have Willems (86%) who has no real competition until Matt Ritchie returns but after that I think we see now some debate as to who should be in the team, as other options now present themselves, especially up front.

You have Almiron on 76% and Joelinton with 67%, whilst Carroll as 40% support and Gayle 22%.

No surprise that this is the same team chosen by fans as the one that beat Manchester United.

The biggest fight for a place in the fans team was probably the choice of left sided centre-back, with Clark on 59% and Dummett 40%. Interesting once Lejeune is back to compete for that position…

This is how the Newcastle team v Chelsea looks based on the fan votes with the percentage votes (rounded up/down to nearest whole number) for each of the 23 players.
