Emotional Matty Longstaff interview after smashing winner past Manchester United and MOTM display

What a Premier League debut for Matty Longstaff.

The kind of thing (Geordie) dreams were made for.

Steve Bruce making five changes to his team after the five goal embarrassment at Leicester.

The biggest surprise, giving a debut to 19 year old Matty Longstaff alongside brother Sean in the middle of the pitch.

Matty Longstaff came closest to giving Newcastle the lead in the first half.

A volley from 25 yards hitting the crossbar.

On 72 minutes he went even closer, a 25 yard daisy cutter giving De Gea no chance.

An all action midfield display on top of his goal, meaning Matty Longstaff was a deserved Man of The Match.

Receiving that MOTM award from brother Sean, the 19 year old declared:

“Last night you go to bed dreaming of this and you never think it’s going to happen.

“For it to happen, I’m over the moon.”

Watch his excellent post-match interview below.
