Deluded Sunderland fans want new manager sacked after just one game – Classic comments

Sunderland fans aren’t happy.

After only one (losing) match they want the new manager sacked.

Indeed, plenty of them wanted Phil Parkinson dismissed as soon as he was unveiled as replacement for Jack Ross.

Their big objection is that Parkinson isn’t good/big enough for them.

Ironic really when they were slagging Newcastle fans off for saying the same about Steve Bruce when he got the NUFC job in July, even more especially so when at the same time they (Sunderland fans) were also slagging Bruce off for being hopeless.

Newcastle fans were gutted because a Championship level manager (head coach) had been appointed to a Premier League job, whereas Sunderland fans are furious with their owners for bringing in a League One level manager to a…League One club.

The honeymoon period with Stewart Donald and his mate also appears to be well and truly over, the Mackems very belatedly realising what a pair of chancers they are.

Sunderland fans commenting via their ‘Ready To Go‘ (and get another manager already) message board:

‘Massively underwhelmed. Cheers Stewart Donald. The club is a fu..ing shambles man.’

‘Shi.., won’t be going back till Donald fu..s off now. Last straw for me.’

‘From richest club on the planet to Phil Parkinson. Only at Sunderland.’

‘Really never thought I would see the day. The folk who have continually hailed Donald as the ultimate owner need to look at themselves. Pure cost effective and nothing more.

Very much the lowest point of my safc supporting life.’

‘Hope he proves me wrong, but out of all the names linked he was right at the bottom of my list….close to Steve McClaren.’

‘I’d of rather had fu..ing McClaren.’

‘Awful choice. Worryingly I think it points to bigger issues at the club also. We are in serious danger of becoming a league one mainstay rather this being a blip.’

‘God this is embarrassing.’

‘Pretty grim how it’s come to this.

This is a completely uninspiring appointment that shows that we haven’t got a pot to pi.. in.’

‘Replaced one negative manager for an even more negative manager.’

‘We really have become part of league one furniture now.’

‘Without doubt we are at the lowest point in this club’s history, club needed a lift after the takeover let down and this is what they serve up.’

‘Club’s a laughing stock.’

‘Pathetic choice of manager!’

‘Ross had to go, but when the club, team, fans needed a lift, someone with a positive personality, Donald pulls this dinosaur out of the hat!’

‘10th will be a bonus, relegation unlikely but possible with this shower of sh..,terrible appointment and the sale is not going to happen despite what the thickos on here have us believe, 40 million to buy us and another 40 needed just to get out of this league, sc.m for 300 million much the better option to any investor.’

‘Usually teams are doing considerably worse than we have been doing when they sack their manager.

If this guy needs time to get it right then we won’t be getting promoted this season.’

‘Parkinson probably the only one who would accept fower bob a week wages, fits right in with our fu..ing owner’s strategy.

The pair of them should be ashamed they’ve brought us down to this level, the pair of them started off talking the talk, but can they walk the walk, can they fu..’

‘Please no, not the “dust ourselves down” comment after a defeat.

Obviously Bruce did get in touch to wish him luck and offer PR advice!’

‘Can’t get too low after a defeat to Wycombe with no shots on target following a defeat to the mighty Lincoln where we were completely outplayed? Aye, all right, Phil.’

‘This club could just as easily be fighting relegation if the players lose all confidence.

Its our choice support the manager and his team or undermine them… the choice is yours.’
