We asked fans ‘Where will Newcastle United finish in the 2019/20 Premier League table?’ The results
We asked Newcastle fans on Thursday: ‘Where will Newcastle United finish in the 2019/20 Premier League table?’
Looking ahead just over nine months time, where will NUFC be in the table after that final game on 17 May 2020?
Only four games gone but after what fans have seen on and off the pitch, including the summer 2019 transfer window, where do they think is the logical position for Newcastle to end up?
This is how we summed up the situation:
‘I must admit I was surprised to see what an ‘interesting’ end to the season we have.
I hadn’t realised that the very final match is Liverpool at home.
That final home game last season was a cracker in May, although Newcastle had nothing to play for.
Imagine if we need something this time…
Imagine if Liverpool do as well!
In fact, the last five games of this 2019/20 season don’t make great reading: the schedule counting down is Man City away, Watford away, Spurs home, Brighton away and then that Liverpool home game.
The three clubs very likely to fill the top three positions and away games at teams that are very likely going to be relegation rivals.
Looking ahead, I’m guessing we will need to take advantage of what looks a far kinder seven game run ahead of the final five matches, that seeing NUFC up against: Palace (A), Burnley (H), Southampton (A), Sheffield Utd (H), Villa (H), Bournemouth (A), West Ham (H).’
So after 38 Premier League matches, where did fans think Newcastle United will end up (percentages rounded up/down to nearest whole number)?
Looking at the results, a few things to point out:
When it comes to relegation, 57% of fans are saying staying up, with 43% believing NUFC will go down.
Including 17th though, it becomes 58% going for Newcastle to finish bottom four.
Whilst a massive 84% believe Newcastle are set for a relegation battle, picking 15th or lower in the Premier League table.
Of course you always get those determined to be different, so lets hope the 1% that are predicting title glory are proved correct.
