Newcastle United player ratings from fans for 2019/20 Premier League so far
Below you will find the Newcastle United player ratings from fans for the 2019/20 Premier League so far.
Which Newcastle players have thrived, or not, since the season kicked off?
Only four PL games in but what do the Newcastle United player ratings tell us?
Each game we ask Newcastle fans to give us their ratings on every player, a collective result for all players from the overall supporter voting.
Newcastle have kicked off with a win, a draw and two defeats.
Here are the average marks for each player from these four games, we have only used ratings from games players have started (sub appearances are difficult to compare like for like with those who start, as some subs may play only a minute or two etc.) and how many starts is in brackets after each NUFC player.
6.5 Martin Dubravka (4)
6.4 Isaac Hayden (4)
6.0 Paul Dummett (4)
6.0 Fabian Schar (4)
5.9 Christian Atsu (1)
5.7 Sean Longstaff (3)
5.7 Jetro Willems (1)
5.5 Joelinton (4)
5.4 Matt Ritchie (3)
5.3 Javier Manquillo (1)
5.2 Miguel Almiron (4)
5.1 Jamaal Lascelles (4)
4.9 Allan Saint-Maximin (1)
4.8 Jonjo Shelvey (2)
4.3 Emil Krafth (3)
2.3 Ki Sung-yeung (1)
Leaving aside Paul Dummett who has only made one start (Bournemouth), it certainly seems as though it is the players further up the pitch who have benefited most.
The four rated an average 6.0 or more at the top are Martin Dubravka (6.5), Isaac Hayden (6.4), Fabian Schar (6.0) and Paul Dummett (6.0),
Defensive players once again showing themselves so far to be where Newcastle have their greatest strength – the quartet comprising of a goalkeeper, two defenders and a defensive midfielder.
Of the others to have started all four games, Joelinton (5.5) is next highest.
Also worth mentioning, that pretty much everybody got hammered with a really low rating in the Norwich match, hence why Ki is so low after starting only that one PL game.
