Mo Salah guilty of going through the motions ahead of playing Newcastle United
Mo Salah has an incredible goalscoring record for Liverpool.
In just over two years he has scored 57 goals in 75 Premier League starts (plus three sub appearances).
Newcastle have helped the Egyptian international with his total, the last times the two teams have met, Mo Salah has scored and Liverpool have won.
Only the first time he faced Newcastle did Salah fail to score and the scousers didn’t win, the day belonging to Joselu who got the equaliser when Lovren kicked the ball off him at St James Park, the game ending 1-1.
Liverpool have won their last 13 Premier League games and only lost one (to Man City) of the last 43 PL games, facing Newcastle next, you have to feel the attacking player is just going through the motions when talking about the opposition.
Mo Salah saying ‘Newcastle is always tough home or away, the way they play. They have a good team and good players and a good coach.’
He was speaking after picking up his Liverpool player of the month award, already three goals in four games, all wins.
With no games for Egypt in this international break, Mo Salah will be fully wound up for this one.
If he does score yet again, lets hope it is his ability and not his cheating that is responsible for it, maybe VAR will save us this time if he dives in the box.
Mo Salah speaking to the official Liverpool site:
“Newcastle is always tough home or away, the way they play.
“They have a good team and good players and a good coach. We just need to focus on ourselves and do our job.
“Last season we lost the Premier League by one point and just need to keep focusing on each game right now.
“We don’t need to lose any points.”
“I feel good,
“Last season and the season before I’d scored three goals after nine or eight games (in all competitions) but this time I’ve scored it after four games, that’s fine. I’m happy about it!
“But the most important thing for me is to keep winning, winning, winning, winning.
“We won all the games last month (in the Premier League) with good results.
“It’s always good to score goals but as I’ve said many times, the most important thing is the team win games. As long as the team are winning, anyone can score. We are happy about that.
“We had a good month. We won a big trophy (Super Cup v Chelsea) in that time. It was something unbelievable for us as a team.
“Everyone showed the performance and the way we can play. We are happy about what we have done right now.”
