Liverpool fans with plenty to say about Steve Bruce, Newcastle team and fans after 3-1 win

Reading these comments from Liverpool fans below, I think it might be safe to say any love-in with Newcastle is well and truly over.

A lot of friction between Liverpool fans and Newcastle fans at St James Park in May.

Then Mike Ashley binning Rafa Benitez in the summer probably the very final straw.

Anyway, comments on all sorts below.

Very few, if any, complimentary.

The Newcastle supporters and the Newcastle players given plenty of grief.

Steve Bruce also featuring largely in their thoughts.

Liverpool fans commenting via their Red and White Kop message board:

‘Could have been 5-1. What it must be to be a Newcastle fan and see the defensive surety of Rafa replaced by the last-minute-last-ditch-hope-against-hope defending of Bruce.’

‘Wasn’t even bothered when they scored, just thought careful Newcastle, you don’t want to make us angry, we’ll put 6 past you.’

‘We won the game in third gear again. Upped it to 4th gear for about 10 minutes in the second half and they couldnt live with us.’

‘That Joelinton is a good player isn’t he.’

‘Bring on yer parked buses, doubledeckers. Bruce is a sh..e Hodgson.’

‘Newcastle were a bunch of dirty a..holes today, I lost track of the nasty little kicks and tackles. It was a miracle we made it out mostly unscathed.’

‘I think Newcastle scoring was a blessing in disguise. We were a bit sloppy at the beginning there but after they scored, we woke up.’

‘Fu.. off newcastle hope you get relegated.

3-1 easy peasy.’

‘Even though the score was only 3-1, that was as close to a footballing humiliation as you can get. And Newcastle played out of their skins. We dominated every single facet of that game.’

‘Jermaine Jenas saying Bruce’s Newcastle more expressive than Rafa’s – Tw.t.’

‘They were trying so hard to play brucie up for the commentary.

When newcastle were leading they even mentioned that the goal had made newcastle fans have more faith in brucie.’

‘After the slow start we had them on their backs the entire game. Newcastle don’t deserve any plaudit for playing stone age football.’

‘We were a joy to watch the way we controlled the game and then exploded past them.

They were sh..e. Reduced to diving over when losing possession and all the tricks.

I had to laugh at BT comms trying to gloss over the defeat and pull positives out. “Steve Bruce gets unfair criticism.”

‘Any reason why Klopp and Pep celebrates right in front of Bruce after the first? I’m assuming Bruce must have said or done something earlier in the match’

‘I think it’s just a weird angle, or they’re celebrating towards someone else, it does though look like they are doing it right in front of Steve Bruce but I just can’t see that being the case. Bruce and Klopp seemed fine afterwards too.’

‘Could have celebrated the other side of stanley park and the fat cu..’s head would’ve been in shot.’

‘Bruce was blocking the sunlight with his head.’

‘A bit of the pessimist in me was shi..ing bricks when jetro thunderbasterded it in, a bit of spurs vs newcastle game came to mind.

Pretty sure i was not the only one.

Really hope Schar is ok after that ankle breaker of a goal.’

‘Both BBC and BT Sport said they thought Trent should have shown Willems down the line, but I thought Trent did the right thing showing him onto his weaker foot (don’t think anyone expected him to do that with his right).’

‘Willems scored 12 goals in 270 apps. He scored the goal of his life yesterday, Trent did the right thing. Adrian should have tried using his left hand.’

‘I was sitting watching with a massive grin on my face at 2-1 when we were destroying them during that second half spell, and the crowd were singing and loving it. It was inevitable that we would get a third, and what a goal it was. At 2-1 there was always the tiniest squeak of a chance Newcastle would fluke an equaliser but at 3-1, it was damage limitation. Teams are beginning to know when their number is up at Anfield.’

‘What I liked more than anything is that at 3-1 we were still causing them problems, and with 15 minutes to go Newcastle were strolling around like they’d been beaten – something we’d never do even at 3-1 down.

Firmino was off the charts in every aspect and its good to see the media giving credit where it’s due and appreciating his class and skill. The way our front 3 move defenders around to find space is a joy to watch, and the days of worrying about parked buses seem to be behind us.’

‘Newcastle fans sang the Ba/Gerrard song.

Felt great putting those sad ba..ards down after their goal, really did.’

‘Couldn’t believe they came out with that, talk about desperate. Didn’t hear any Sign On which is something I guess, just the usual Where’s Your Famous Atmosphere and Is this a Library?

As for the home fans, thought it was the worst so far this season, loads streaming out from not much past 80mins too.’
