Kevin Nolan says Newcastle players ‘buzzing’ under Steve Bruce compared to much duller Rafa Benitez
Newcastle fans were stunned at comments Kevin Nolan made this summer.
The former NUFC player featuring in a series of interviews talking about his old club and the political situation at St James Park.
It later transpiring that he was in line to get the assistant’s job if Sam Allardyce had agreed to go back.
Kevin Nolan coming out with some real over the top stuff defending Mike Ashley and attacking Rafa Benitez:
‘With Mike, you can’t fault him. I think what he has done is he’s still been able to finance the club, and make sure that everything is still running smoothly.
“You go up there and it is a fantastic club, what he has done within the ground is fantastic.
“I mean, the whole Rafa Benitez thing, I think he knew what he was going into when he first walked into that club…I think Rafa has done quite well in working the media in terms of the way he feels and what he wants.’
Kevin Nolan has once again being talking about the situation at St James Park and now he says that the players are enjoying life lot more under Steve Bruce than they did under Rafa Benitez.
Nolan clearly has some kind of pro Ashley/Bruce or anti Rafa agenda going on, or a bit of both.
Kevin Nolan claiming Newcastle will be ‘pushing for that top ten’ under Steve Bruce and claims that the Head Coach was definitely the ‘right fit’ for Newcastle.
The only trouble is that nobody ever explains why Steve Bruce was the right choice for Newcastle and have no answer when anybody points out that no other Premier League club would have even considered him.
Kevin Nolan talking to Stadium Astro:
“Listen, I was there just a week before the season started and the place was buzzing, there were smiles on faces.
“I went up there when Rafa was there and no disrespect to Rafa but it was a lot more duller you know, everything a bit too serious.
“I think Steve has brought a smile back on the lads’ faces, they all seem to be enjoying training, they all seem to be together.
“The biggest thing I brought back from that week was that they all believe that this season, it’s going to be tough but they will be okay.
“And they (Newcastle) will be pushing for that top ten.
“I just think they enjoy the fact that something different was going on.
“I think Steve is a bit different to Rafa, who is more of a technical…and sort of talking about squads and talking about eleven v elevens, whereas Steve (Bruce) is more…this is now his biggest job in football, the biggest club.
“And you have to remember, last year Rafa didn’t win in his first 10 games.
“So they have to give him time.
“This is Steve Bruce now trying to put his ideas across to Newcastle, sort of impact on this team, on this club.
“So you have to give the man time, I think he is the right fit for Newcastle, definitely, at this time.”
