Tottenham 0 Newcastle 1 – Match ratings and comments on all NUFC players
We asked Jonathan Drape-Comyn to give us his match ratings after Tottenham 0 Newcastle 1.
A game where Newcastle took their big chance this time through Joelinton on 27 minutes.
Then a real team performance got the Mags over the line, a display of committed defending and Spurs struggling to create despite 80% possession.
Dubravka – 7: Made one great save in the first half.
Also, slightly unrelated but one of the best keeper kits I have seen in recent years!
Schar – 9: Has made a dodgy start to the season but was immense today and put his body on the line more than once.
Lascelles – 10: Here, there and everywhere at the back.
A great captain’s performance… maybe got a bit lucky with VAR.
Dummett – 9: A few key interceptions and headers won.
The back three were the key to winning the game.
Krafth – 4: Looks out of his depth at the moment, a poor individual performance.
Ritchie – 8: Gave his all as per usual and kept his head throughout.
Looks far more comfortable in that wing-back role.
Longstaff – 8: Another one who looked far more comfortable in a role he played so well in alongside Hayden last season.
Almiron – 7: Ran his socks off and did well but already a very frustrating player for me.
I hope he doesn’t turn into a Perez-like player of rolling around too much and spending too much time trying to con the ref more than anything else.
Hayden – 8: One of the most underrated players in the league.
How a team higher up in the league didn’t have a look at him in the summer surprises me.
Saint-Maximin – N/A: (Not on long enough) Strange one…
Joelinton – 9: Took his goal brilliantly, held the ball up and let’s hope this is the first of minimum 15 goals this season.
Atsu – 7: Offered plenty while he was on, made a great assist to Joelinton for the goal and earned his spot for next week.
Fernandez – N/A: (Not on long enough)
Muto- N/A: (Not on long enough)
