Spurs fans comments on Newcastle United ahead of Sunday – It’s not pretty

Newcastle United are very popular with Spurs fans.

It is great to feel so wanted.

The Spurs fans looking forward to Steve Bruce taking his team to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The home supporters are all agreed on one thing, that their team is going to win.

The only thing they disagree on is by how many.

One bright glimmer of hope is raised by one Tottenham supporter, who points out that Newcastle have actually won on their last three visits to Tottenham (as opposed to the last two visits which were hosted at Wembley).

Whilst Spurs fans are looking forward to see who they will get this time in the Champions League after being losing finalists, they see Newcastle United as a side with relegation written all over it.

There isn’t a single player left in this current Newcastle United Premier League squad who have scored either home or away for NUFC against Spurs (Aarons and Colback have scored but weren’t named in the official PL squad), so can anybody new step up this time…

Spurs fans comment via their Fighting Cock message board:

‘Take huge heart from result against City and stick 5 or 6 past these perennial serial losers.’

‘At some point we will batter an opponent.

Will be very interesting to see if Son is brought straight into the team.’

‘I can feel it in my bones the Geordies are getting a battering.

Changing my prediction to 6-0.

Bruce out by Wednesday.’

‘Keep Sissoko off the wing.’

‘Off the pitch preferably. No need to start him at home v Newcastle. Also went for a 3-0.’

‘Yes, Norwich smashed 3 against them, but it’s probably likely that Bruce thought he could get something from a game against a newly promoted team that conceded 4 the previous week.’

‘Newcastle have been absolutely pathetic so far and Steve Bruce isn’t exactly what I would call inspiring so I imagine we will get the 3.’

‘Newcastle are basically a mid-table Champo team fighting for a playoff spot in terms of quality. We should absolutely hammer them. I just want to see us be ruthless.’

‘Play with a bit of tempo = win game. We have too much for The Magpies, they look like they dont know what job they have to do on the pitch.’

‘From their perspective.

In the summer it looked like they where getting billionaire Middle Eastern owners backing Rafa, instead they have Bruce with little money.

Picture our fan base going from thinking we will have billions to spend with Poch to having Poch leave and be replaced with Allardyce without money.

But yes the mentality will hurt them, sometimes when you are on the up the momentum carries you and likewise when you are on the way down.’

‘I’m afraid they’re a real candidate for relegation this season.’

‘Poor Brucie doesn’t stand a chance with these fu..ers.

Players and fans alike throwing him under the bus after 2 games.

Their overblown hatred of Ashley and the myth they’ve all built up around Raffa will prove an absolute cancer to the club.’

‘Newcastle are a good candidate for relegation , Benitez was ultra defensive last season and managed to get enough points to stay up. Now they are more attacking and their defenders are not good enough to do that.’

‘Newcastle and Bruce are a load of absolute…Nothing other than a big win will do here.’

‘Two games, Newcastle have yet to complete a pass inside the opposition box.’

‘Should be all out attack. 4-3-3. KWP, Toby, Jan, Rose, GLC, Winks, Ndombele, Son, Kane, Lamela.’

‘I got nothing against Geordies, I even liked auf wiedersehen pet as a kid growing up, but i wanna seem them northerners crying at half time and in hysterics at the final whistle after the spanking we give them!’

‘Newcastle has a very good chance of getting relegated, nab an early goal or two and then keep everyone healthy.’

‘If Lamela starts against Newcastle we’ll still win because they’re terrible, but if Lamela pops up with an assist or something Poch might feel obligated to play him against Woolwich and that would be a terrible mistake. We need to play our best players in that game, because it’s gonna be a real tough fixture.

And Newcastle at home is the perfect fixture to start Lo Celso and bring Son back. I’d also like to see Skipp start.’

‘Just realised Spurs have lost the last 3 home PL games v. Newcastle at Tottenham, as opposed to Wembley.

Need to put that right on Sunday.’
