Newcastle United young stars into Super Cup NI final and now face Valencia

The Newcastle United Academy have been excellent in the Super Cup NI.

Regular contenders in this annual Northern Ireland tournament, they strolled through the group stages.

They are competing in the under 17s Premier Section, with each match 70 minutes long.

Newcastle kicked off their group games with a five goal thrashing of County Londonderry on Monday.

This was followed up by a convincing 4-1 win over Hull City on Tuesday.

United then made it a trio of wins when beating Canadian side FC Edmonton 4-0 yesterday (Wednesday) to ensure they  finished top of their group.

A 5.45pm kick-off today saw NUFC face Country Antrim in their semi-final.

Yet another convincing and dominant display saw United win 3-0 and head into Friday’s final.

In four games the young Newcastle stars have now scored 16 goals and only conceded once in almost five hours of football.

Earlier today, Valencia faced Right to Dream (from Ghana) in the other semi-final.

That game ended 1-1 and the Spaniards eventually went through 4-3 on penalties.

Good luck to the under 17 NUFC side in Friday’s final against Valencia.
